Where Should I Go if I Have COVID-19 Symptoms in Malaysia?

Do you have the symptoms of COVID-19 and are unsure if you should visit a clinic or a designated hospital to seek medical attention? You can now take a simple assessment at the end of this post to find out.

Persons Under Investigation (PUI)

An individual would be a PUI if he/she fulfils the following criteria:

1. Have a fever OR symptoms of acute respiratory infection (eg. shortness of breath, cough, sore throat)
AND
2. Have travelled to COVID-19 affected countries1 within 14 days before the onset of symptoms OR have had close contact2 with a confirmed COVID-19 case

PUI for COVID-19 must visit a designated hospital to get screened for COVID-19.

Non-PUI

Individuals that do not fulfil the criteria mentioned above fall into the category of non-PUI. If you are a non-PUI, you can get tested for COVID-19 at a clinic should you wish to do so. You may visit selected BioMark participating clinics in Malaysia. It is advised to call the clinic 2 to 3 days in advance to make an appointment for a COVID-19 screening test. You can also get your test results delivered directly to your BioMark App.
